R4DS

Simply put, the R4DS DS is a slot 1 device that will turn your DS or DS lite console into a multimedia device capable of playing back all your favourite media files on the go. Using the R4DS will you to also access homebrew games which can be downloaded from multiple sites on the internet, these games are custom built games which can be designed and developed by anyone and are available for free download.

The R4DS DS is designed for the original DS and DS lite consoles, while the newer R4DSi is designed for the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL consoles and supports the latest firmware from Nintendo for these consoles. The final R4DS 3DS is designed to work with the Nintendo 3DS console and fits into the slot 1 on the console just like the other versions of the R4DS card. The R4DS 3DS is the latest R4DS card and features the most advanced technology, building on the R4DS and R4DSi before it. Both the R4DSi and R4DS 3DS support Micro SD and SDHC memory cards meaning you can attach a memory card for storing media files with a capacity of up to 32GB, you will need the R4DS SDHC to do this on the DS or DS lite unless of course you wish to use the R4DSi or R4DS 3DS.

With the R4DSi or R4DS 3DS there is a feature called RTS or real time save which allows you to save your games progress allowing you to return exactly to your last point should you wish to. This is just one of the advanced features that the R4DS cards offer. Another feature that many users find essential is the wide range of languages that the R4DS supports, Spanish, French and many others.
